Support Group Service Terms and Conditions

  1. These Support Group Service Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all bookings for the Cut Off – What Now?™ support group program (“Service”) provided by Margaret Patricia Martin, ABN 59394120877, sole trader, trading as Cut Off – What Now?™ (“we,” “our,” “us”). By booking the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
  2. Eligibility and Jurisdictional Restrictions: The Cut Off – What Now?™ support group program is not available to participants who are physically located in the United States or Canada while receiving the Service. A booking made by a person who intends to participate while located in either of those countries may be cancelled, and any payment received will be refunded, less applicable transaction fees where permitted by law.
  3. Pricing and Payment: Payment is required in full at the time of booking.

Support group program (six-month membership): $425 AUD. This provides participation in the six-month program, including 12 fortnightly live online support group sessions and access to associated member resources.

Support group program (three-month membership): $250 AUD. This provides participation in the three-month program, including six fortnightly live online support group sessions and access to associated member resources.

Participants who purchase the three-month membership may choose to continue for a further three months for an additional payment of $250 AUD. There is no obligation to continue beyond the initial three-month period.

The six-month membership represents a $75 saving, or 15% discount, compared with purchasing two consecutive three-month memberships.

Payment plans are not offered.

Support group participants may be eligible for discounted individual counselling and, once available, a discount on the Cut Off – What Now?™ workshop. Applicable discounts and eligibility requirements will be stated when those services are offered.

Member resource access: Access to associated online member resources is provided for 12 months from the date the membership begins. Refunds, where applicable, will be calculated on the amount actually paid.

  1. Cancellations and Refunds (Customer-initiated): Bookings for the support group are made for either a three-month or six-month participation period and are not bookings for individual group sessions.

Cancellations made more than 7 days before the programme commencement date are eligible for a refund.

Cancellations made 7 days or less before the programme commencement date are not eligible for a refund. The participant may transfer their place to another person by notifying the facilitator before the programme commences.

Once the programme has commenced, fees are non-refundable.

Participants who purchase the three-month membership are under no obligation to purchase a further three months.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.

  1. No-shows and Late Arrivals: If you fail to attend a scheduled support group session, no refund, transfer, credit or replacement session will be provided. Live support group sessions are not recorded and recordings will not be available to participants who miss a session. Participants will continue to have access to the associated member resources in accordance with these Terms. Late arrival does not extend the scheduled group session.
  2. Cancellations and Changes (Our-initiated): We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule an individual support group session due to facilitator illness, technical failure, emergency, or other unforeseen circumstances. Where reasonably practicable, a replacement session will be scheduled.

We may make reasonable changes to scheduled session dates where necessary and will provide participants with as much notice as reasonably practicable.

If the support group program is cancelled by us before it commences, you may choose either a full refund or, where available, transfer to another cohort.

If we permanently discontinue the support group program after it has commenced and are unable to provide the remaining Service, participants will receive an appropriate refund for the portion of the purchased Service that cannot be provided, subject to applicable law.

Refunds will be processed within 10 business days of cancellation.

  1. Participant Conduct: We reserve the right to remove any participant from the Service without refund if they are disruptive, disrespectful, breach group agreements, or engage in behaviour that compromises the safety, privacy or wellbeing of other participants. Examples include, but are not limited to: harassment, abusive language, discriminatory comments, repeated interruption, intimidation, or inappropriate conduct towards another participant.
  2. Confidentiality and Recording: Support group sessions may involve participants sharing personal and sensitive information. Participants must respect the privacy and confidentiality of other group members and must not disclose identifying information, personal stories, circumstances or other information shared by another participant outside the group.

You must not record, photograph, screenshot, transcribe or otherwise capture any part of a live support group session.

You must not share, reproduce or distribute program materials except for your own personal use unless you have our prior written permission.

While participants are required to comply with these confidentiality obligations, the nature of a group setting means that we cannot guarantee that another participant will comply with them.

  1. Events Outside Our Control: We are not responsible for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms where this is due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, public health emergencies, internet outages, strikes, or illness. In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule any affected support group session or otherwise provide the affected part of the Service.
  2. Nature of Service: The Cut Off – What Now?™ support group is a professionally facilitated support group with a psychoeducational component for parents experiencing estrangement from an adult child. It provides facilitated peer support, discussion, psychoeducation and opportunities for participants to reflect on and share their experiences with others experiencing adult-child estrangement.

The support group is not individual counselling or psychotherapy and participation does not create an individual therapeutic relationship between the facilitator and a participant. It is not a substitute for individual mental health, medical or psychiatric assessment or treatment where such services are required.

  1. Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from your participation in the Service. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including under the Australian Consumer Law, your rights and our obligations will be determined by the applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
  2. Acknowledgements (Online Bookings): All online bookings require you to confirm the following via tick boxes before purchase:

Agreement to Terms – “I have read and agree to the Support Group Service Terms and Conditions.”

Nature of Service Acknowledgement – “I understand that the Cut Off – What Now?™ support group is a professionally facilitated support group with a psychoeducational component. I understand that it is not individual counselling or psychotherapy and is not a substitute for individual mental health, medical or psychiatric assessment or treatment where such services are required.”
